Jesus

Theres a little girl named Katie she is only 3
Shes playing with her brother climbing up a tree
Theyre laughing and theyre smiling having a good time
Theyve forgotten all theyre troubles until they hear their mothers cry
A shot rang out and Brother carried her up the steps both were terrified
Hoping what they thought theyd see wasnt really inside
But it really happened that sunny August Eve
Mother cried and said Daddy didnt mean to hurt me
It was all over then their mother slowly died
As her children sat in disbelief and silently they cried
Their trauma wasnt over though as a second shot was heard
They listened to the painful scream like a dying baby bird
Daddy was in shock mourning his murdered wife
He took the gun to his head and ended his own life
Katies older brother though he was already 11
Knew that through all this hed rather be in heaven
He put the gun up to his head and held his sister in his arms
And there was only one left living on this tiny little farm
Now Katie is 11 and lives in a brand-new home
Finally a family she can call her own
They loved her and took care of her and said they always will
There was only one requirement they said that she must fill
The handed her a Bible and she looked up in surprise
Then they gave her a picture of a man with love in his brown eyes
They told her it was Jesus and he was king of land sky and every creature
Then they turned to leave trying to accept this girl and all the pain that came with her
But before they left Katie said to them trying not to cry
Yes thats the man who was holding me the night my family died
