That Moment Stuck In My Memory

by DeeEmm   Sep 30, 2007

So I'm at this party,
Chillin' with my friends,
I start drinkin' to get drunk,
Before the party ends.

I'm tryin' to pick up,
I'm talkin' to this chick,
But man she ain't doin' it for me,
So I give her the flick.

I ain't being a bastard,
I just want some action,
I don't wanna muck around,
Give me satisfaction.

But then I see this girl,
She's sittin' alone,
Miss anti-social,
Playing around on her phone.

Her eyes are locked,
She isn't looking around,
They're focused only,
On her phone and the ground.

But she's amazing,
Man, she' better than that,
I know that where she is,
Is where the party's at.

So I stroll on over,
But it's no time for flirtin',
Coz she is a keeper,
Of that I am certain.

I sit down near her,
On the bar stool chair,
I notice how beautiful she is,
Her eyes and hair.

She finally looks up,
And my heart skips a beat,
I get really nervous,
And start to notice the heat.

I say hello,
And I tell her my name,
She responds,
By doing the same.

At first she is quiet,
She seems a little bit shy,
But I think she realises,
I'm a half-decent guy.

We hit it off,
Man, we talked and talked,
And then the party ended,
So we just walked and walked.

We spoke for hours on end,
With no time for breaks,
But I try really hard,
For my own sake.

And I seize every chance,
Every chance that I've got,
Because she's better than best,
And I'm bloody well not.

There may not be a moral to the story,
Except give everyone a chance,
Coz you never know what you'll get,
Be it fun or romance.

So there it is,
The day I met my girl,
At first just a girl at a party,
But now she is my world.
