I Smile Through The Pain

by HalfwayBetween   Oct 1, 2007

I was there for my friends when they weren't there for me
I kept all their secrets and shared all their pain
But when it was my turn for friends you see
They spilled all my secrets for their popularity gain
So for my own gain I smile through the pain

When you were down I helped you up
When you needed me I was there
But when I was a lost lil pup
You didnâ??t help or even care
So for my own pain I smile through the pain

When you were falling, I gave you a hand
I pulled you up as best as could be
But when I fell, from your heart I was banned
You let go and looked right through me
So for my own gain I smile through the pain

Iâ??m being selfish, I mean what am I thinking?
Who am I to ask for friends I can trust?
Just because theyâ??re afloat means I should keep sinking
Let them fulfill their own wants and lust
So for their gain I drown in my pain
