Freedom Rain

by broken angel   Oct 3, 2007

Standing outside under the deep indigo sky
It's raining
Just a drizzle at first
Lightly landing on my head
Rinsing me of my doubts
Thicker drops fall
As my inhibitions melt away
Harder and harder the navy beads plummet
Hitting my fingertips, my body
I raise my face upwards towards their descent
My arms flung open at my sides
Inviting the salvation of the rainfall
The drops beat against my skin and leap off the pavement beneath me
Cleansing me of my uncertainty
All my reservation, all my self-consciousness
Is released against the downpour
The rest of the world just washes away
Leaving nothing but me
A solitary figure standing out in the rain
Letting the drizzle free her soul
