Choices

In life I've learned that there are numerous choices
Opinions heard in many voices
We don't know what will happen tomorrow
And that, to me, is a horrible sorrow

This or that or the option "other"
Makes me want to pull my hair out and anothers
I have to make sure my choices keep me on track
Although sometimes it's not exact

For some, a choice is life or death
Or either to sleep or do meth
To let it out or keep it bottled in
To follow God or live you life as a sin

To forgive and forget or to keep that grudge
To loose that weight or keep the pudge
To listen to your parents or rebel
To slack in school or do your best to excel

To fight for it all or back down
To maintain that smile or frown
To love or not to love, you decide
To stand up or try to hide

To grab that knife or throw it away
To change the world or keep it the same horrific way
To back away from that mountain or jump off the ledge
To make the right choices or live life on the edge

To say no or to smoke that cigarette
To stay content with your choices or live with regret
To make that drunk guy go away or loose your virginity
To turn away from this poem or listen to me

Every choice that you make, you have to live with
Good comes out of mistakes, that is not a myth
Now with every decision you make, think it through
It can decide whether it will be OK or even be the death of you

    Excellent poem!!! i really like the message your getting across here.....it's the choices we make that effect the outcome of the way our life is gonna end up....although there were times when the flow fell short....this is definetly a great poem...keep up the good work your doing awsome!! 5/5:)

    I simply love this piece! Not only is it an ingenious idea but it is incredibly well written. The flow got shaky at times, but you gracefully grabbed it by the ears and reined it in.

    I truly love the bit with the choices in it, it not only lets the reader into the state of mind you were in at the time of creative inspiration .. but it also forces the reader to think these choices for themselves!

    I would really really like you to PM me with regards to this poem, being a senior member I want to nominate this poem for contest entry .. I just feel it needs maybe 2 lines slightly altering.

    As I'm sure you have gathered I LOVE this piece.

    I hate choices. but mostely cause they are every where. the biggest decision i ever made was whether to move in with my dad who lives clear across the US from me! but i love the poem. its VERY good!
