Place

Sorrow imbedded in your veins
Emotional exhaustion causing shame
Everywhere you look starving pain
A darkening atmosphere clouding the brain
Orphaned children crowd the street
Aunts and uncles who turn their cheek
Little compassion for the nimble and weak
These ideas are never to speak
A smile instead fills the air
Full of wonder, ready to share
Through the situation little care
The heart of a lion that roars as a bear
Eyes appear so crystal clear
Never hesitating or showing fear
A surface cover so calm and clear
Internal grinding of your gears
Causing to question all that you know
Your definition of happiness starting to go
Accessibly ready to be redefined
Happiness referred to as a matter of time
Is the one point you can always find
That no one can ever take away
It doesn't matter what they try to say
