We Swept

by Carissa Mitchell   Oct 9, 2007

We swept across the desert plains
In the night of endless wonder
The ute in tiredness as it drives along
Its back so sore as it drags the van

We swept through the heavyness of the night
The utes eyes as they glimmer on the road
The trees as they hang like shadows in the empty darkness
As the giant balloon shimmers in the sky
