Stranger

by ShawnnaLeigh   Oct 10, 2007

She wakes up in the morning
with a smile on her face
when she opens the curtains
she feels the suns embrace

she whistles fine tunes
about not feeling sorrow
oh what a glorious day
she thinks of a beautiful tomorrow

she sees all her friends
so much joy in her eyes
but what she saw next
was surely a big surprise

she looked in his eyes
but he`s not what she sees
the mask that he wears
just lies and deceives

the look in his eyes
makes her feel hate
she wants to go back
and re-due her fate

on the outside of course
he did not change
but the things he does now
it all seems so strange

her smile fades
the clouds cover the sun
old feelings seem new
pain has just begun

the whistles turn to sobs
glorious mornings fade to grey
she fears to see tomorrow
for the horrors of today

in front of this "friend"
she feels in danger
no longer a friend,
only...a stranger.

At first I thought that the poem was really bland and ordinary, but then as I got through the end was great. Although you may of not meant to do it but the ordinary begging was a great set up to the darker end. Great Job.
