A Sisterly Promise

by brie kelly wise   Oct 12, 2007

If I could replace your heart
I would turn it to stone
So nobody could hurt you
Like they did before

We can cry about it for hours
Or we can laugh it off
Like we did when we were young
And look forward to that ending

If I could keep you in my arms
Every second of your life
So nobody can let you fall
Like they did before

When winters get colder
I'll warm you and your tears
When people get older
I'll guard you and your heart

Cry it out little girl
You're here now
Nobody can touch you
Nobody but me

We've been through so much
I know how badly you hate it here
Someday I'll take you with me
And we'll make a town of our own
