Raven's Secret

by Ashley Childers   Oct 16, 2007

Sitting here all alone,
Staring into the eyes of the unknown

I watch as the trees dance in the wind,
Listening for the silent message that they send

Ravens perched on the swaying trees,
Singing, cawing mournfully to the breeze

The setting sun giving off one last breath,
Fearing nothing not even death

The moon sends ribbons of light,
Into the quickly darkening night

A single tear runs down my face,
Twisting and turning like that of lace

I stare up at the jeweled night sky,
Silently saying my goodbye
