Game of Minds

A test finished early,
just to write about you.
Because I'm feeling good today,
and have nothing else to do.

A pencil now put to paper,
and a mind now put to work.
I feel a sudden shallow emptiness,
am I really such a jerk?

I got called a name,
for talking to you the other day.
Even though they hate me,
is this still the game you want to play?

All I want is to be near you,
and for things to be as they were before.
Because I still care about you,
even if you don't care anymore.
