Life

by John Bowlby   Oct 16, 2007

Someone once asked me:
'What's the point of life?'
I simply responded,
With the words of this poem:

Life is love; happiness,
Life is everything; yet nothing,
Life is eternity,
Life is never ending bliss.

Eternal thoughts of
Who we are,
Who we want to be,
What and who we love.

Yet life can change,
Suddenly,
Rapidly,
Become estranged.

It can turn against you
At the drop of a dime,
Leaving you breathless
Choking and blue.

Then comes death,
As it comes for all,
Giving small warning
As you take your last breath.

And that my friend,
Is the meaning of life,
The meaning of death,
The beginning and the end.
