Stolen Truths

by Laura Lamarca   Oct 16, 2007

Adoration's luck shines in
admirable eyes, defining belief
in pages of betterment,
conscious actions, line upon line
of letters,
captured to deceive.

Dreams diminished in memos
of meaning, preening echoes to
dip and submerge,

as frailty finds excuses and causes,
outlined in small-minded
snippets of time.

Grand gestures squandered
in pondered deliberation, as
hibernation gripped and held secrets
inside, to hide lost pride of
past generations, gathered and
garnered in uttered asides.

Jaded proposals in faded freedoms
keep sanity safe in silence of sleep;

leisurely learning in love's
passion...burning, to bury
boredom in liberty churning.

Meandering memories of
nurtured nonsense, pouring
to protect a past once projected,
as taunted soul ~ a mere haunted
reject, till arms embraced
to face life's neglect.

Quite the fright fallen,
her honesty stolen;
reaching, beseeching, impeaching
the rules...

still silence resounds in
sorrow's worn frowns,
tightly and sprightly in new
comfort found
until you release me to quietly
be ~ a voice without
choice in society.
