Mother

by Rheingold   Oct 18, 2007

Mother you are the one I thank
For helping me fill in the blanks

Mother you have always been there for me
Were there when I first counted up to three

Mother am I truly all grown?
You taught me all the things I've known

Mother may I ask if you can recall?
Was I the one who saved you from it all?

Mother it's okay we can talk
I'd love to talk and take a walk

Mother whatever's tearing you in two?
You know I'm here to help you make it through

Mother I beg you please do tell
Around me you needn't your shell

Mother I'll stand by you for all of time
After all you're the one who's helped me climb

Mother please let me wipe your face
Your tears really starting to race

"I love you my son, you're my world
You make me a proud, happy pearl
You came and abruptly changed all my goals
Brought me all the happiness in my soul
You were born and now you're a man
I wish you the best in your plans
I only need you to believe one thing
Mother loves you and all the joy you bring"

Mother with me those words I'll bring
I love you too and now I leave your wing
