This Girl's Eyes

by Stasia   Oct 19, 2007

There sits a little girl
In a corner so dark and sad
She searches and hopes for her dreams
To erase everything her reality had

She grew up strong
And she grew up right
And she grew up stubborn
But never giving up the fight

Backed into her corner once again
This repetitive story never seems to end
A prayer without an ending amen
A heart that can’t find a way to mend

As she searches for love
Something that has seemed so far
She looks up towards the sky
And dangles her hopes on a star

Her shoulders uplift
And her mind is clear
She softly smiles to the night
As the warm breeze subside her fears

Looking back on her life
The girl still remembers that night
When the she wished she had wings
Hoping if she jumped, she would take flight

I looked into these girls eyes
As she looked for a sign
When she looked at me I realized
These girl’s eyes were mine
