The Ashes Fall

You cant see clearly any more
cant get out, cant find the door
your breath comes in short quick gasps
as your journey begins, it cannot last
though just begun, you near the end
youve been set free, able to stand tall
as the ashes fall

you cannot stand any longer
you cannot drown out your hunger
throat hoarse, filling with cries of hate turned to help
forgetting to remember how it felt
when you could feel, long ago
youre now able to sit, holding on through it all
as the burnt ashes fall

you wont exist much more
give up, dont persist, let your body fall to the floor
eyes burning red
let it go, your almost dead
you were never here, youve never been
no one will remember how it was back then
no one at all
as the ashes descend, and end their fall
