I'll wait for your smile.

by Mr Rhee   Oct 21, 2007

The morning is fresh. The breeze, cool.
The rustling autum leaves sooth my thoughts.
I wish you were here with me, right now.
If only you hadn't left me.

How I miss walking with you, holding
your hand in mine, never letting go.
I can still hear you sweet laughs,
the way they made my skin tingle.

I remember that time you tripped,
and pulled me down with you in your fall.
We just layed there, looking at each other,
not having another care in the world.
When asked if we were ok, we both declared
that we were just fine where we were.

I could look at you for hours, and did.
It didn't bother you as much as you said.
And you always smiled for me.
I miss your smile so much.

Where have you gone? Why haven't
you come back to me, like you said you would?
I've been waiting, just like I said I would.
It's been so long now.

When you left, you were crying.
Were you trying to tell me something?
You smiled at me, you held me, kept me warm,
but, still, you were saddened, somehow.
Please, don't tell me I was wrong. Not now.

I'll keep taking our walks, waiting for you.
I will let the leaves blow across my feet.
I'll wait for your smile.
I'll be here.
