Ruby

by Tinkabella   Oct 21, 2007

Ruby's gloomy; she wrote me a letter

Shattered by tears
She told me she would give herself just one more year
The lonely nights, she feels too blue

Ruby cut a hole in her arm, the blood told it all
She went to the emergency department, on to the ward
Then she got discharged, might as well have been to the moon

Ruby's fading; food rotting in the bins
The plate is left untouched, except a lettuce leaf or two
Her clothes don't fit, she's way to small

Ruby's dying; I see it in her eyes
A once sparkling light, flickered right out
A hug won't touch even touch our Ruby anymore

Ruby's gone; she couldn't stay here.
