I Do

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Oct 21, 2007

I'm standing here right now
As you take my breath away
I never thought I'd feel
The way I do today

Mom gives me one last hug
As the music fills the air
The flowers in my bouquet
Match the blossoms in my hair

You're standing at the alter
And I'm almost at your side
I can't believe today's the day
I get to be your bride

You slip a ring onto my finger
As you vow for better or worse
It's only now that I understand
The phrase, "So happy that it hurts"

I take your hand as mine trembles
While I try to hold back my tears
I've waited all my life for this moment
I've wanted to say "I Do" for years

The preacher turns to you and says,
"You may now kiss your bride"
And I know that no one could ever
Feel the way I do tonight
