The Dark

by Marissa   Oct 22, 2007

The dark surrounded his body
It was like a blanket
The cold hard stone never warmed to his touch
The night air as freezing as dead winter

It was like a blanket
Perfect rays that illuminated everything
The night air as freezing as dead winter
He wished he could go back to his old life

Perfect rays that illuminated everything
Beauty so simple and pure
He wished he could go back to his old life
Simpler days seemed far off

Beauty so simple and pure
Any person would wish to be him
Simpler days seemed far off
He wished he wasn't what he was

Any person would wish to be him
The cold hard stone never warmed to his touch
He wished he wasn't what he was
The dark surrounded his body
