One Last Time

by CareBear   Oct 24, 2007

The rain pounds down around me
It soaks through the cotton
Stinging my soft, unsuspecting skin
My body is numb to the wet,

Cold water dripping from my hair
Down onto my legs
Drenching every inch on my body
How long have I been sitting here?

Lost in the memories we made
All those days we can never replay
You're face is all I see now
And sleep has become something held

Only within my memory.
Have you any idea what you've done
Like a disease seeping through
My fingertips, up through my body

Leaving me breathless and utterly helpless
You've destroyed all of my defenses
So still I stand surrounded by the beats
That nature has created to remind me

Of everything you made me feel
And how beautiful this world can truly be
But it taunts me, reminding me of everything
That is holding us apart and keeping us there.

Come now and hold me as we float away
Being in your arms makes time stand still
It makes the rest of the world disappear
Into nothingness as you and I stay close

They cannot reach us here, nor can they
Pull us from this fast embrace
Kiss me now, as your hands brush
Softly up my arms till I feel your lips one last time.
