Between Us

The air between us
sharp like broken glass,
frozen like the ice
that permeates my past.
My heart beats in the space
between all that we are
closer than the earth
but farther than the stars.
The feelings start to evanesce,
the pain that leaves no mark.
Out of the closet comes the rain,
chasing bats in the dark

    Wow, wow, wow...
    This is flawless, absolutely breathtaking and brilliant. One of the best sad poems I've read in a while. I simply love everything about it. It is effective and original, you said so much with just few lines which is impressive. I can relate to it.
