Maternal Wisdoms

by Laura Lamarca   Oct 26, 2007

Mirrored stares
in hourglass sighs...

curves swirling stories
of triumph and torment,
insecurities etched
in sanguine streaks ~

criss-crossed in
maternal wisdoms.

Womanhood bared
in analytical stance, as
scars bare trophies of
adult responsibilities

achievements scrawled
'neath nourishment's bosom,
as pride and purpose
swell without sight

and hands trace hips
to scrutinize acceptance,
reflecting on labours
born and grown...

blushed silence caressed
to bless life's journey
with contentment of self.
