Packed Popularities

by Laura Lamarca   Oct 26, 2007

Fake contents shake
to croon and crown in
tiara tirades of
drama's dreams and seams
unpick to place disgrace
in empty echoes
and frowns unseen.

Packed with pride
in false attire to aspire
to Golden Globes, in robes
of satin, silk soon sewn
with nothing solid sat inside.

Vacant voices, void expressions,
situations in spineless cycles,

pouted smiles, shouted demands
on red carpet cries
of threads pulled dead.

Dull promises, drab reasons
in seasonal salaries and
bare beliefs...

unrealistic emotions as
celebrity circles cease to
please in clear release.

Maintain a mask of
popularity plain, to hide the
taste of wasted life, till pain
is etched in make-up moments,
concealing normal, honest strife.

Designer labels in
bottomless bags,
frivolous spending for
futile fools, as
otiose obsessions overused,
become the veins of
self-abused souls.

Tabloid taunts trace truths
to taint, in painted poses
of purposeless plights;
in stiletto stares and stony glares,
impassive ideals stunned
'neath senseless spotlights.
