When We Were Younger

by Luna   Oct 26, 2007

When we were younger,
We saw each other everyday,
We'd fight and then forget,
We'd sleep in our den of hay

Once we found some old bricks,
And made a home for the snails,
We'd kidnap them but they always ran,
Making sure they covered their trails,

And we had some stupid times,
Like that evening you came to play,
I hit you on the head with a pole,
I thought it would make you stay

No matter what I did to you,
I never meant you any harm,
You'd hit me and I'd bite you,
Then we'd cry in each others arms

We were always causing trouble,
We were known as the terrible twins,
A pair of beautiful freaks,
Who always forgave each others sins

We made a promise back then,
That it would be me and you forever,
Even if we said we hated each other,
We'd do everything together

But we both grew older,
And we both changed,
It seems we were wrong in thinking,
Things would stay the same

You made different friends,
Drove us apart,
It’s too late for your apologies,
We’re too distant at heart,

I wish I could go back,
To when we were younger
And nothing hurt.
