The Devil Incognito

by catalina   Oct 27, 2007

The gold sun creates circles in the horizon
Above is her angel, white as a ghost
Below is her fate, red hot with anxiousness
Her eyes are dark ebony ,
Not unlike her pounding soul
Her heart pumps louder and louder
Ticking its last moments
Not saving each breath until the very end
When the speeding clocks will stop.

The endless clocks tick.
The black footprints duplicate.
With every passing second,
Time is less mysterious.
Her deep shadow is her slave...
Her one true companion...
Her angel takes a slow breath,
Through chilled lips;
Her job is almost over

She keeps running
Forgiving her lonely past
Forgetting her limited future
Time moves on at no speed
It is frozen,
As still as Edward's body.
Life isn't a race.
It hasn't all ended.
It isn't all over.
But she still keeps running...

Time presses on
No one can stop it,
But everyone can fight.
Shiny blood drips gently
From a wound in her trembling hand
Emotions run like wild horses
It's her turn to fight
Home is where the devil lies

She has waited..
But she is not ready.
The time has come.
The seconds will stop.
But she can't bear the pain.
The burning, searing, bleeding pain...
She lowers the handgun..
God's at the door.
