Talk back (DON'T)

by Hannah Mhairi   Oct 27, 2007

I get in so much trouble,
more than anyone in my group,
but the teachers are so annoying,
they've got me in a loop.

"Don't talk back",
(I am told this daily)
honestly, the amount they explode,
when it's not my fault (not really)

it all starts like so,
a) "Hannah! What's the answer"
- I dunno
- Do this now or come back at lunch
(meaning that I'm not allowed to go!)

b) (after working out I'm hopeless at school)
- "Hannah!!! GET YOUR TEXTBOOK, NOW!!!'
- um, no?
by now she gets so mad that I just can't look!
Both a) and b) result in,
(for me),
a delightful detention,
the year ten dean is stupid enough to ask,
..."is there a logical explanation"

I shrug and try,
to keep my cool,
after all i now have two whites,
(after-schools)
- so I say no because we both know,
logic isn't quite fact,
especially not (it would seem)
when you answer back.
