Fishing

by Alicia   Oct 30, 2007

Fishing over the boats rail
I waited more than half an hour
For that little fish to bite
I might as well have been watching
Ugly Betty that night
The line tugged as I woke up grabbing with all my
might
I heaved that little rod up waiting for that moment
When I could be crowned queen of the family fishing team

I wound it up with a frantic heir
Because I wanted to win and get out of there
As I wound up the end of the line
My disappointment sunk in as I had only caught a
a puny fish.

As I heaved a sigh and let it go ,
I felt how slippery the thing was
And freaked out,
Because the fish was trying to wiggle out
I threw that little fish fairly far.

I would have won the fish throwing champion title
If they made that in to a new sports competition
It landed plop into the water where it ought to
Once again I won the good go award
That is the only award I have ever got
I think I will put it away in the basement with the others,
Where it can be forgot

Until the competition next year
Where i amI have got to find an excuse to not go
So I don not have to get the same shame again
For being the worst family fisher.
