Bonfire Night

by becca   Nov 6, 2007

Burning and churning and turning,
And glowing and growing, and showing the way,
And twirling and curling and whirling,
And lighting, and fighting, inviting to stay.
And transforming, performing and pleasantly warming,
And dancing, and prancing, enhancing at night,
And lightening, and brightening, and frightening,
And waving and saving and bathing in light.
And stroking, and croaking, and smoking,
And darting and parting and starting to fade,
And sighing, retrying, but helplessly dying,
Dropping and stopping its lengthy crusade.
And so finally failing, flames hopelessly flailing,
They flicker and die, with the darkness prevailing.
And glowing embers remind of the infernos fight;
Of its beautiful battle, this bonfire night.
