Only Sixteen

So here I am turned sixteen in love I think I am,
But people think I'm all to young to know or understand.

So is there a certain age when you know how you feel,
when suddenly I'm old enough to know what feelings are real?

"In Love" they say "you must have it wrong","You don't know what love really means",
So if you can be in love at twenty then why not at sixteen?

Is it wrong to give your heart to someone you like so,
or do I have to wait until it's too late to really know?
