You Were A Waste Of Time

by Soulful Ensemble   Nov 11, 2007

Why did It end in misery, when we both worked so hard
To learn about each other and walk away unscarred?
What was in our heads when we forgot to be alive
That forced us to keep our feelings inside?

I would wonder what was wrong with you,
But then what other things would i have time to do?
I had to realize I had no patience for clues,
And find somebody else to waste away to.

The clock was always running, and you were fast asleep,
Ignoring all the time that wasted, while I was on my feet.
What kind of blind girl did you want for our first kid?
One who could argue just as much as we did?
Would that be good, you think?

I really have to wonder, what sort of mom you'd be,
Would you have lots of excuses to always be free?
Would you go to church just to sit down on your knees?
Would you be that lazy? That you'd be a part of something you don't believe?

Its such a disappointment now,
The time I wasted-- Wow.
I could have been elsewhere, but how?
You would've not allowed.
