Smacked Back

by Laura Lamarca   Nov 11, 2007

Death clenched in creases of carnage
'mid air bubbles of syringed disdain;
each orifice scabbed in stabbed attempts
in vented veins of tracks lacking life.

Smacked back stains of opiate strength,
clench cold corpse in skagged array,
displaying destitution in night's attire
like prayer played on Mecca's mat...

as moribund aura lingers amid suicide's stench,
in crossed knuckles and bruised fingers.
