My painted heart

My poor old heart,
it looks so blue,
i'll paint it red,
thats what i'll do,

pretend to feel,
pretend to be,
all the thinhgs,
that just aren't me,

smile and laugh,
without a care,
pretend i'm not caught,
stuck in a snare,

pretend to be happy,
pretend to have hope,
when i'm really not knowing,
just how to cope,

i'll hide all the pain,
behind my eyes,
not letting them know,
all the times i've cried,

pretend i'm not broken,
pretend i'm still good,
pretend i'm alright,
thats if i could,

pretend i'm not caught,
stuck in the dark,
pretend i'm ok,
and have a whole heart,
