Troubled Waters (Terzanelle)

by Laura Lamarca   Nov 12, 2007

Troubled waters that slip freely to slide
upon cast panes of haunted memories,
in guise of rain, to hushed sorrows abide.

Pained past to paint in chilled complexities
in layers of unwritten metaphors,
hung from strained heart as mere accessories.

Sea ebbs in echoes ne'er reaching the shore
to play upon conscience of hardship fought;
mind pleads for sanity as soul implores.

Solace grows evasive in silence sought
as acceptance floats limply 'neath sun's ray,
to slaughter sadness in horrors of thought.

Night meshes with glass to deny each day
as steps' reflections hinder to restrain
and life creates hurdles, stuck in the way.

Emotions etched in echoes to sustain
troubled waters that slip freely to slide,
as cold cascades through each vision, each vein
in guise of rain, to hushed sorrows abide.
