The sinner and the saint

by Iola   Nov 14, 2007

You made your choice, hastily so
And married the girl who didn't make you wait
You tried to kiss me on the go
I'm the sinner and you're the saint

You cried for me whilst saying you do
To the one who put her photo by your bed
You tried to see me to kill your blues
Tried to see one last time what is true

You stood out there with your head held high
Pledged your love to her out of responsibility
As you said goodbye your eyes slowly died
As you chose marriage and fertility

You went on honeymoon dreaming of us
And even tried to catch me when you returned
Tried holding on to our dreams and what you trust
As you see how your fingers get burned

You stood there my love and craved my kiss
She even asked you to cut me out for good
Asking yourself how you got into this
And how life can ever be so rude

You lying tonight in your made-up bed
Crying at what you lost for all you days
My heart started beating from the moment we met
Your the sinner and I'm the saint
