Up there

Is there someone looking down on us?
Watching us move each day.
Controlling everything that happens,
Making it go their way.

Do they punish us because of our behaviour?
Or dare us to do worse?
Do they enjoy watching us quiver?
While someone steals an old ladies purse.

Do they like to see us cry at night,
When we think all are asleep?
Do they take that beautiful child's life,
And laugh when the mother weeps?

Do they give us a moment of joy,
When we have done something good?
Do they rejoice with happiness,
When we have done something we should?

Do they let war break out?
And drought strike a country down?
Do they cry in shame,
When the children learn to frown?

Do they let us create monsters,
That'll shoot a whole army down?
Do they let arguments break out,
Over who's wearing the crown?

Do they let people sleep on the street?
With not a penny to their name.
Do they ever listen to them pray?
Asking them to end this game.

{{not sure if i ended it right}}
