Family

You can see the hatred
In her eyes.
When she screams,
When she lies.

You can see the pain
In her heart.
Breaking her,
Tearing her apart.

She loves them so much,
But hates them for all their worth.
She needs them,
But it's usually her that begins to yell and curse.

She wants to be held,
But also wants all the space she can get.
She can feel it happening again,
And feel her eyes begin to wet.

She wants to hit them,
Make them finally shut up.
She wants to break something,
And she wants to cut.

She wants to tell them
They're driving her crazy.
She wants them to understand
That her future has turned hazy.

She will always love them,
And always hold them tight.
But you will never understand,
The way she cries at night.
