Dylan for your Graduation <3

For Dylan on his Grade 8 Grad Night.

Graduationn.
BY Tasha .

This is your final memory of all the years,
all the good times you spent at Ben R,
all the fights you had with your friends,
and all the words left unsaid.
Tonight you graduate from grade eight,
and next year move onto grade nine,
your realising how fast your growing up,
but take your time and enjoy the years.
My advice for you little brother is simple,
just remember this poem I wrote for you,
because in every line is a word of advice,
from your sister who loves you very much.
Never stop yourself from being who you are,
and never change yourself for anyone else,
dont always run away from your problems,
and take time to smell the roses.
Dont forget the friends you've made,
and dont forget the memories you made,
because even though friendships fade,
memouries stay with you forever.
Look back to when you first started school,
remember the shy boy you were,
the little boy who hid behind mommy,
untill you saw me in your classroom.
Thats the little boy I still see inside you today,
that shy little boy whos going to need help along the way,
that little boy who hides behind his mommy,
untill he sees his sister standing there.
I remember when we were just little,
I remember ll our pillow forts and food fights,
all the silly games that we came up with to play on rainy days,
and all the new friends that we've made along the way.
But when I look at you today I realise how much you've changed,
you dont need to hold mommys hand to go places anymore,
you dont need to have your sister with you everywhere you go,
you dont need to hide yourself from anyone anymore.
Grade nine's just around the corner,
you'll start highschool in September,
and I want you to always know,
I'll be there with you every step of the way.
I know that we're going to have our fights and call eachother names,
and we're going to have those days when we HATE eachother,
but its only because we're brother and sister,
because Dylan, I could never ever hate you, no matter how hard I tried.
Dylan, you bring out the best in people,
you see things and hear things that others may never see or hear,
your are the best person that anyone could ever be,
and I'm so thankful that your my little brother.
I have a few last words of advice,
these are words that I had said to me on grad night,
these are words of wisdom I've heard throughout my life,
and I pass them onto you tonight.
Others are going to tease you,
and make your life a living hell,
but never let those people get the best of you,
show them how to be true.
Never put yourself or others down,
always stand up for what you believe you,
if you fall in love with someone tell them,
and always stay true to yourself.
Never forget that I'mm going to be behind you forever and ever,
Im always someone you can run to for advice,
I'm your big sister and I wouldnt have it any other way,
your my little brother forever.
Sometimes I may act over protective,
but its only because I care,
it's because your always going to be my little brother,
no matter how old you really are.
I wana be the first person you run to with a broken heart,
the first person you call in the middle of the night crying,
I wana be there for your wedding,
and the first to meet your first girlfriend.
Dylan, you are my little brother forever & always,
and Im thankful for you everyday,
because everyday you teach me something a new,
a new leason in my life.
Dylan, you are everything to this family and to me,
you are my support system and my shoulder to cry on,
your my little brother,
and I love you to death.
So have fun tonight and tomorrow and the rest of your life,
dont let anyone or anything ruin your life,
if you surived though grade 8 you'll surive highschool,
and just remember, Ill always be here.
