Waiting For The Sun (Pantoum)

by Laura Lamarca   Nov 18, 2007

Many miles wandered seeking break of day,
my journey through twilight has just begun;
'pon pebbles to ponder each night away,
as I sit here still, waiting for the sun.

My journey through twilight has just begun,
looking 'round confused, bemused by moon's face;
as I sit here still, waiting for the sun
with love's promised gift of warmest embrace.

Looking 'round confused, bemused by moon's face,
I have no company ~ I'm here alone
with love's promised gift of warmest embrace,
as cool breeze reminds, no hope do I own.

I have no company ~ I'm here alone
with the haunting truths of my memory,
as cool breeze reminds, no hope do I own,
yet when morning dawns, it shall set me free.

With the haunting truths of my memory,
lost regrets chill me and blow to rescind;
yet when morning dawns, it shall set me free,
to cast my past skywards into the wind.

Lost regrets chill me and blow to rescind,
sat on this swing of life as future yearns
to cast my past skywards into the wind,
starting anew, placing trust as light learns.

Sat on this swing of life as future yearns,
'pon pebbles to ponder each night away;
starting anew, placing trust as light learns.
Many miles wandered seeking break of day.
