Little Golden Locket

A small heart shaped pendent, as golden as the sun.
Kept in a box that reads "You will always be the one"
This golden locket once kept around my neck,
I knew that it watched over me, meant for love and to protect.
This little heart shaped locket, holds a story hard to tell.
This little golden locket, now collecting dust on my shelf.
How I loved that locket, and every memory that it held,
It had the worth of my love, the value of the world.
It was special beyond the gold, and the diamonds that did shine;
But because I knew it was the heart, of the one I called mine.
It was given to me with love, and words that brought me to tears.
