The Childhood that I Lost

by Alicia   Nov 19, 2007

A silent tear I cry.
For the childhood I've lost.
I grew up so fast.
Now I've paid the cost.

I miss the plastic playgrounds.
And scrapes upon my knees.
I miss the games of make believe.
And when all boys had cooties.

I miss the times we laughed so hard.
And forgot what was so funny.
I miss the times we bought CD's.
With our parents money.

I miss the times we held hands.
At every street we crossed.
I miss the times when balls,
Not words, were the things we tossed.

I miss the times when we called everyday.
And the times together we cried.
But I have to say, I do not miss,
the time that we both died.

I got lost in the memories.
Of you and me and days in frost.
And now I must shed a tear.
For the childhood that I lost.
