GOODBYE

I hear you name just once,
And tears begin to fill my eyes.
There are too many memories,
Including our last goodbye.

I wish I spent more time with you,
I wish you could have stayed.
But now that you are gone for good,
I feel so lost and dazed.

So many things were left unsaid,
And thats my greatest fear.
To speak the words I love you
Would calm so many tears.

As I see you lying motionless,
I gaze at the soft wrinkles in your face.
They reflect the years of wisdom,
That we now hold in your place.

The glow is gone from your cheeks,
For now you're pale and cold.
But your vibrant soul remains,
And it shall watch over us as we grow old.

You're no longer here for me to embrace,
But you're forever in my heart.
And even though you wont be near,
I know we're never completely apart.

So for now I say goodbye,
As tears roll down my face.
As I see you lowered in the ground,
I know that you are in a better place.
