Breaking Loose

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 23, 2007

You dream of this great future,
Of all you wish to do,
We, is never talked about,
It's always you, you, you.

I thought I'd give it time to change,
But years have now passed by,
Still nothing found within your plan,
That screams out, you and I.

Just one notch upon your belt,
A trophy on your arm,
Love now seems a passing thought,
My eyes see through your charm.

You asked me once, you asked me twice,
Finally I gave in,
Holding close what little faith,
Found festering within.

Now I see, we were not meant,
We've been clutching our mistakes,
Letting go, is all that's left,
No matter what it takes.

Hearts may break and tears may fall,
Still, life it must go on,
Mourn for me, my selfish love,
As I run to meet the dawn.

The flow of this poem is endlessly effective... The choice of words and the expressed emotion is strangely captivating...

You interpret these emotions so easily which I find hard to do... The way this poem is able to captivate me from the beginning of the poem to the end is flawlessly effective...

    A great write... 5/5!

This is perfect in every way...from the flow, and rhyming to the content and message...

I love the way the title ties into the ending line with such perfection....even though it's a sad poem it ends on that vision of better things ahead! love it!
