A kids life

by lil ashie   Nov 27, 2007

My mother always told me never look down,
always look up just never frown.
she said to me being a kid is the best thing in your life,
when your older your memories gets cut by a knife.

looking down at my mothers feet,
is it time to turn over a new leaf.
she says to me don't worry and don't cry,
i turn my head and let out a big sigh.

theres a knock on the door,
jumping of mothers knees and onto the floor.
open the door look its my friends,
I'm going out the conversation ends.

mother looks out the window i see a tear,
why is my mother so full of fear?
why is she sad why is she looking down,
theres silence not one single sound.

my friend shouts come on lets go
i cant leave my mother while shes feeling so low.
come on we have to finish our den
my mother whispers... i with i was a kid again

This is such a sad narrative about a mother's regret - i love the simple wording and the flow is perfect
