The way you cried.

by InvisibleHourglass   Nov 28, 2007

We all sat there grieving as we heard the news.
Of course,
we all looked sad.
But you were there crying.
Tears streaming like you'd known that girl all your life, and she had been your best friend.
I watched your tears flow,
the way you cried showed how much you cared.
For the girl,
For her friends,
For her family.
You cried like everything in the world mattered.
Even though it wasn't you who needed to cry.
I realized how silly it is,
some tears we shed.
Ones that are shed for ourselves.
You cry for others.
Your head lifted,
not bent in grieving.
Your head faces the sky,
showing it your tears.
to let it know just how much a life means,
while we just bent our heads.
