Mute (Terza Rima Sonnet)

by Laura Lamarca   Nov 29, 2007

Thoughts failing to find their freedom from muteness,
yet peace skulks elusively inside my mind,
as sorrows surround my soul in sullenness.

Breathing absurdity in gray sight purblind,
softening senses of murky mania
and fury furrows with fraught sadness combined.

Plucked problems strung in own private phobia,
strummed on air with unsettled reasons distilled
as hope crumbles in this faked euphoria.

Trust's strong expectations now lie unfulfilled
in their feathered flush of long forgotten hue,
as dreams drown in dirt's dirge of visions now killed.

Unbalanced existence swims in fear's sinew,
as forged falseness forces a different view.
