Feathered Emotions (Pantoum)

by Laura Lamarca   Nov 29, 2007

Wistful wishes welcome such wonderment,
tethered to thoughts of feathered emotions
and desirous dreams bare brief betterment;
old assumptions drown in cried aspersions.

Tethered to thoughts of feathered emotions,
their spite detracts from each invective hue;
old assumptions drown in cried aspersions,
as truth crowns beauty in elegant view.

Their spite detracts from each invective hue,
knocking down envy in survival's swipe,
as truth crowns beauty in elegant view;
tears of dried sorrows that I gladly wiped.

Knocking down envy in survival's swipe,
as emeralds shine to promise earned wealth;
tears of dried sorrows that I gladly wiped,
as spirit soars proudly, embracing health.

As emeralds shine to promise earned wealth
and desirous dreams bare brief betterment,
as spirit soars proudly, embracing health,
wistful wishes welcome such wonderment.
