In a Darkening Place

by Pamela   Dec 13, 2007

Coldness runs into the room,
tears of hated falling to the floor.
Feelings of depression and emptiness
fill this empty space.
There's no escape from this place,
no bright light at the end of this tunnel.
Trapped forever in all the emptiness,
no savior coming to set her free.
Left alone and never thought of again,
slowly dying in pain and anguish,
dark shadows cast over existence.
Thoughts of life thrown away,
nothing left in the world to say.
No one can ever know these things,
for the fear of words to be said.
They will never understand all this,
or anything unknown to them.
Casting out thoughts of difference,
the reasons for this loneliness and doubt.
She's sitting on this hard dark floor,
wondering whether there will ever be more.
Crying the tears of everyone before her,
taking on their pain but truly its just hers.
Never understanding why people are this way,
no one caring enough to save her from this place,
eternity she will spend
with darkness and vengeance on her face.
