Her Story

by barelybreathing   Dec 15, 2007

She walks down the street holding her head up high
carrying her body with confidence
but her face tells a different story
her eyes are deep with sadness
looking into them you can see the depth of her pain
her gaze is distant, but not empty
she gazes at the future while revisiting old memories
her smile is big, but not genuine
she always forces a smile, a smile meant to cover up the hurt and disappointment
deep inside her it gets more intense
her heart is scarred
its been mended a few times, but the scars remain
her soul is indestructible, but weak
as her mind aches with confusion
her body aches for affection...for the touch to make it all better
she's tired...she wants to go home
she wants to go to that one place where nobody can hurt her
but she knows it's not time yet
she knows there's still alot more to learn..and alot more to endure
she's just not sure how many more blows she can handle before she crumbles
