Long Lost Lovers
One from the start
came together
but were so far apart

Knew it was destiny
but something went wrong
couldn't come together
so both would fall

The gap was so big
and both had to jump
but one got scared
and one wouldn't give up

So one took the leap
but the other held back
to scared to fall
there was no going back

seeing the wreck
of what used to be
one's heart broke
that one was me

and the other its true
he did take a fall
and when I should have caught
I did nothing at all

So at the end of the day
not one, but two
hearts were broken
torn right through

it was my fault
I admit it too
because I was scared
and oh such a fool

But maybe just maybe
when our hearts do mend
we will end up closer
at least just friends

and maybe this time
with our eyes wide open
we'll know what we're doing
and won't drown in the ocean
